  1. How long have you had a handlebar moustache, and what is your history with moustaches?

I’ve always had a mustache, though trimmed very low profile, due to my LE background, however my petit handlebar has been with me for about 3 months.

  1. What moved you to grow a handlebar moustache? Do any relatives or ancestors have handlebar moustaches?

A couple of my co-workers thought to grow staches so I said why not, my father has prostate cancer, and old time lawmen wore them, so I kept it. No one in the family I know has a HB.

  1. What are some of the reactions of others as you grew your handlebar moustache? What sort of reactions or comments did you get initially from your significant other?

I get mixed reactions; most think it’s cool. I have been complimented on it while on a call for service. My wife hated it, but she tolerates it. I think it’s growing on her.

  1. What are some of the funny or strange comments others have made about your handlebar moustache over time?

Kids have called me, Mario or Luigi from the Nintendo games.

  1. Has having a handlebar moustache had any effects on your personality/behavior, attitude, self-expression, and sense of self?

Yes, I’m standing a bit taller.

  1. What is it in your personality that drew you to growing a handlebar moustache?

I think myself a bit dapper, my father is a retired old-school tailor of men’s suits, I get it from my father.

  1. Have you been in any moustache contests or attended any such gatherings?

No

  1. It takes courage to wear a handlebar moustache. What would you say to those who think you look odd, silly or stupid with it?

“You know nothing of being an officer and a gentleman”.

  1. What waxes, styling aids or glues to you prefer and why?

Clubman mustache wax, it’s easy to locate and it’s portable to reapply later. Wahl peanut and Edwin Jagger DE razor to keep trimmed up and clean

  1. What do you think a handlebar moustache does for a man?

Handlebar moustaches make a man more approachable, debonair, and confident.

  1. How attached are you to your handlebar moustache and what would it take for you to cut it off or remove the curls and not grow it back?

I supervise and mentor at risk youth, I train/coach wrestling & mma, and I’m a lawman.

The youths think it’s great, have had compliments from the public

It makes youth smile

No issues, as it is a petit handlebar moustache.

Nope
