Handlebar Moustache Survey by Keith Shuskie

Posted by on Jan 5, 2013 in Moustache Surveys | 0 comments

My name is Keith Shuskie…. and my son is Gabriel in the pic.

1. How long have you had a handlebar moustache, and what is your history with moustaches?

Going on about 2 1/2 months with my current stache and earlier in 2012 I had a stache. When I shaved it off the first time not only did my daughter cry, I felt naked.

2. What moved you to grow a handlebar moustache? Do any relatives or ancestors have handlebar moustaches?

I went to a friend’s birthday party which was Moustache themed and that’s when I realized I could actually grow one. While most people shaved theirs off afterward I kept it going! Also I never see the real deal here in Buffalo NY! The only person I’ve seen with a Handlebar in Buffalo is Timothy and I’ve only seen him on your webpage.

2. What moved you to grow a handlebar moustache? Do any relatives or ancestors have handlebar moustaches?

I have always liked the historical look of an HB. Nobody in my family has ever had one, making me the first.

Handlebar Moustache Survey by Greg of PA

Posted by on Jan 5, 2013 in Moustache Surveys | 0 comments

Introducing Greg!
1. How long have you had a handlebar moustache, and what is your history with moustaches?

I grow a goatee every year, starting at Christmas and usually shaving for Easter–winter warmth? I was a late bloomer with facial hair (not having to shave daily until I was 30), and mostly it is to take inventory on the state of hair affairs on my mug. I have never had a stand-alone moustache. I have had my current handlebar for only a month.

I have been growing my moustache of about 15 months. This is the first real attempt to grow a moustache.

2. What moved you to grow a handlebar moustache? Do any relatives or ancestors have handlebar moustaches?
I have always been interested in Civil War history and the facial hair styles of the times. I started with a handle bar and the longer it got the more I liked it.

The Haberstacher – Moustached Hatmaker

Posted by on Dec 8, 2012 in Miscellaneous | 0 comments

A gentleman who goes by the name Jeffrey Moustache, Action Sports Photographer/ Videographer living in Los Angeles, CA, also makes a few hats here and there. I met him at the 2012 National Beard and Mustache Championships in Las Vegas in Las Vegas and he was quite an impressive sight. He landed 1st place Verdi beard.

Looks like he also crafts hand-made hats:

“Every hat produced is constructed of Genuine 100% Rabbit Fur Felt, or 100% Beaver Fur Felt, depending on your specification, and fitted with 1 5/8” Black Genuine Leather Sweat Bands.  All hats are fitted with a black Satin lining and are custom tailored to each individual’s personal fit.  No 2 hats will ever be exactly the same, as they are shaped completely by hand, from hand made blocks, making yours a one of a kind creation!  I hope you enjoy and I look forward to tailoring your very own custom hat!”

Check it out at:

He is also a photographer, among other things.
